What is krishna lila?

Lila means play in general meaning. Krishna lila is krishna's act in his childhood.
Krishna is lila-puroshotam. He does his lila, just to give happiness to people around him. The whole life is his Lila only - His play, his mischief, with not only human, but all the lives, by immersing them in happiness and sorrows of every day life. He is one who play role of naughty child whose every act is ful of love. He satisfy desire of every devotee in life. Krishna never attached to other person in his life.

Krishna lila started from his birth, he was butter thief. He gave pleasure to every Gopi of Vrindavan. He saw world to yashoda maiya in his mouth. When Krishna played the flute, the entire Gokul-Vrindavan was mesmerised, not just the cows he was supposed to herd. In the holy scripture, the Bhagwata Purana, there is a whole chapter about Krishna playing his transcendental bansuri in Vrindavan. Krishna himself is supposed to have explained: "If anyone wants to taste the nectarine sweetness of my lips, he should empty himself of his egoism like the bansuri empties itself quickly, so that I may fill it with my music and keep it always near my lips."
